Daily Minor Illness Clinic

sneeze Lynne Innes, Heather Watters and Sue Clark

Our senior nurses are experienced in triage (the assessment of patients needs and directing them to the appropriate treatment area of General Practice) and also in the treatment of “minor illnesses”.

Lynne, Heather and Sue can deal with a wide variety of conditions which may include sore eyes, ears and throats,  hay fever, insect bites or stings, and the provision of emergency contraception and condoms.  As Nurse Prescribers, Lynne, Heather and Sue can prescribe appropriate medication.

The nurses run a “minor illness” clinic each morning and afternoon and are also available to give telephone advice.   Appointments on the day are always available

To access this service, call the Health Centre and select Option 1.  You will be connected to one of our Triage Assistants who will discuss your condition with you and make an appointment where necessary.  It is necessary for the Receptionists to ask for very brief details of your problem so that they can either offer an appointment with Lynne, Heather or Sue or offer a GP appointment if that would be more appropriate.  Our Reception staff are bound by the same strict rules of confidentiality as the doctors and other clinical staff.
