When We Are Closed
NHS Tayside has commissioned the Fife Primary Care Emergency Service in conjunction with NHS 24 to deal with any emergencies which occur out of hours.
If you need a doctor for an emergency which occurs in the evening or at a weekend, ring 111 and your call will be diverted to a Call Handler at NHS 24. Your call will be assessed and you will either be given advice on the phone, directed to a Primary Care Emergency Centre, advised to go straight to a hospital, or arrangements will be made for a doctor to call.
Details of your contact with out of hours services will be sent to the Health Centre before it opens the next working day.
Further information is available in our leaflet entitled ‘The Out of Hours Co-operative and NHS 24’ and from NHS 24 on 111 or via their Website: http://www.nhs24.com/
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
