Health Centre Closure: Monday 2nd October

The Health Centre will be closed for everything other than pre-booked flu and shingles appointments on Monday 2nd October.  In the event of a medical emergency which cannot wait until we re-open, please contact NHS24 and the Fife Primary Care Emergency Service on 111.

Nurses

There are 6 Practice Nurses and 4 Health Care Assistants at the Health Centre.

The nurses provide a range of services available by appointment. These include a minor illness clinic, urine testing, ear syringing, injections, dressings and assisting the doctors with minor surgery. In addition they have training in asthma care, diabetes care, coronary heart disease prevention, well women (including smear taking and breast awareness), antenatal care, family planning and smoking cessation. Two of our nurses are also specially trained to give travel advice. They will also provide help and advice on a wide range of health issues and problems. Daily clinics are run by the Health Care Assistants to take blood for tests, carry out new patient medicals and monitor patients with hypertension.
