Urgent Prescriptions

Requests for prescriptions outside the normal prescription protocol impacts significantly on GP and administrative staff time and increases the risk of a prescribing error. Therefore, unless a medication is clinically urgent and on the list below requests will be treated as routine and in line with our normal processing times. Our Administrative colleagues are instructed to follow this policy and are not permitted to make any exceptions.

The medications listed below may be issued on an urgent, same-day basis as you could experience harm within 2 working days by missing doses.
